World War II Silver Half Dollars
|
This heirloom collection features the complete year set of Walking Liberty
Silver Half Dollars that were struck during the World War II era from
1942-1945.
There is one coin for each year, and each coin was struck in .900 Pure
Silver.
The Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar was first minted in 1916 when the
United States was about to enter World War I. Appropriately, it depicts
Lady Liberty holding branches of laurel to represent military power and oak
to represent civil glory. She is wrapped in the American flag. The reverse
shows an eagle with its wings raised, ready to defend the United States
against those who would try to take away our liberty.T
